my 4-month old puppy doesn't eat but drinks

I have a 4-mo. old puppy. He is a very active puppy. He plays all along with other dogs, and he plays with someone who gives him attention. He eats anything, like fruits, meat, and human food for months, and sometimes he goes to trash cans and the food of our ducks. But now, he is lethargic and has no appetite.

He doesn't play and eat anymore. He just rests in one place. The other morning, his stool has blood, and last night he has a lotion-like stool. He vomits white foam 5 times yesterday. He has no appetite i really don't know what to give him, but he drinks water if i'm offering it. I offered milk recently, he didn't drink it, instead he looked for water. And one thing, he haven't undergone any shots yet.

Is it good to give him milk with cornstarch in it??(he doesn't eat anyway, but in case, he will eat). My mom said it may help as it is helpful to humans that's why we tried. We offered him fish, and chicken, but there's no good. The last time he ate was yesterday morning. How long will a 4-mo. puppy live without eating but drinks?

And what should I give to him temporarily?like an alternative food?can it be vegetables like boiled potatoes or squash?or bread? What is more advisable?

I really don't know what to do and what to give him. And i don't have the money to take him to the Vet. Please help me. I don't want to lose him.

Hi Mariz
I'm so sorry to hear about what is happening to your puppy, but I'm afraid all I can tell you is that you need to get him to a veterinarian right away.

When you bring a new puppy into your home it's very important that you can afford to give him the care that he needs. Getting his vaccinations done and making sure he gets proper health care is absolutely essential to avoid this type of situation.

It's impossible to say for sure what's wrong with your puppy, but from the symptoms you describe it could be Canine Parvovirus, or a number of other viral, bacterial or parasitic conditions. Only a veterinarian can make an accurate diagnosis.

If your pup isn't eating, even though he's taking a little water (which is good), he won't survive long without proper care. Dehydration alone could kill him. Please figure out a way to get him to a vet asap, he's relying on you to take care of him and you owe it to him to make sure he gets what he needs.

I wish you the very best of luck and hope he makes a full recovery.
