MY 5 month GSD is losing weight and not eating

My 5 months old GSD is not eating since 4 days.

Only drinks water and is going loose motions and vomiting. Took him to the vet twice who gave injections and drip but of no help.

He has lost a lot of weight is not active, does not bark as usual and just sleeps.

Please advise..

I'm sorry to hear that your pup is sick, I know how worrying that is.

Unfortunately I'm not a veterinarian and can't really help here, but I can most definitely tell you that this pup needs to go back to your veterinarian right away.

Whatever medications are being given are obviously not helping and your pup needs to be re-evaluated.

If he's vomiting and having loose stools he is probably already dehydrated. If he can keep down fluids I'd recommend encouraging him to drink as much water as possible. Also offer him the type of rehydrating solution that you use for children who are sick - Pedialyte or something similar. Even Gatorade if you have it. These help to replace the electrolytes he is losing and are necessary in addition to the water.

If he can't keep down fluids or will only drink a little then he will need your vet to give him fluids via an IV line. Dehydration is a serious problem and you need to address it early.

It's also up to your vet to find out what's causing your pup's symptoms, so be persistent and insist on getting an answer.
