When I pick him up his mouth area is very wet and not from drinking water. He has been also doing a lot of pacing around the walls of the house.
His eating habit is great, eats all his food, drinks his water, visits the Vet regularly. It's like he spitting (it's clear). I must add my two daughters recently went back to college, he became very close to them. What with the pacing and spitting.
Hi Shirley
What you're describing indicates that your pup is distressed and agitated, but it's impossible for me to tell whether that's because he is ill or due to anxiety etc.
I'd definitely recommend that you have your veterinarian examine him as soon as you can though, to rule out any health issues. Excessive salivation/drooling can be caused by dental problems or gum disease, or a foreign object lodged in the throat etc., your vet will want to take a closer look at his mouth/throat/tongue.
If your pup is very upset at your daughters' leaving, and has an anxious personality, and is panting a lot, the drooling could be a result of this. Pacing indicates distress, but that can be physical pain or psychological distress. Your vet will be able to figure it out for you, so have him checked out asap.
Best of luck, hope this little guy is doing better soon.
