MY NEWLY ACQUIRED 8 WEEK OLD PUPPY HAS A CROAKING SOUND AND VERY SMALL NOSTRILS.
WHAT COULD THIS MEAN?
Hi Priscilla
I'm afraid I'm not a veterinarian and it's impossible for me to say what is wrong, if anything, with your new puppy.
Depending on what breed he is, his nostrils could be a normal size for a puppy of his age, or there could possibly be a physical problem with his nose.
The 'croaking' sound you mention could be related to that, or it could be that he has an infection, kennel cough or some other illness.
If you bought this puppy from a reputable breeder then these are questions you should be asking them first, then take him to your veterinarian for a check up. If the breeder was not a responsible and caring one, then there's really not much point in talking with them as you will be unlikely to get the truth. In that case your veterinarian is your first port of call. In either situation he needs to be fully examined by a vet asap though.
It's possible that he is healthy, but it's also possible that there is a problem that needs to be taken care of, so get a professional evaluation right away.
Best of luck, hope your little guy is doing much better soon.
