I have a 9 month old husky and she has been a bundle of energy. 4 Days ago she started whining a lot specially when she knows we are about to leave and she now has started to stay under our deck the last 2 days.
Today we have even noticed that she has dug a hole for her to be more comfortable under the deck. We tried calling her but she does not seem to respond as easily as before. The only time she came to us was when we showed her her leash.
Is she sick? Or is she just going thru some weird hormonal change?
Hi Luna
Any sudden change in behavior needs to be evaluated as it could be the first sign of some type of illness.
As this is unusual behavior for your pup I strongly recommend that you get her an appointment with your veterinarian so that you can make sure all is well.
It's possible that something has frightened her or made her over-anxious, or that she's sick. A more remote possibility (given that she's so young) is that she's pregnant and is making herself a 'den'.
However, only a vet can give you the answers you need so please get her seen as soon as you can.
Best of luck, hope she's doing much better soon.
