My chihuahua has a itchy or burning vagina and real stinky breath

My 1 year old foster chihuahua has just had her menses. we put a doggy diaper on her. now it is over she acts like her vagina is itchy or burning and she licks it all the time.

she also jumps like it hurts or itches (hard to explain) her breath is real bad too. I plan on taking her to the vet. but is there anything I can do to help her discomfort?

It sounds as though your dog has an infection and that most probably needs antibiotics to treat it.

An infection like this can travel up the urethra to other organs and cause serious problems if left untreated so I strongly recommend that you get her to your vet right away.

In this sort of situation there really isn't anything you can do to help her, she needs a vet to take a look and prescribe the right medication.

Making sure she drinks plenty of water may help relieve some of the discomfort as it dilutes the urine, but it's only a minor, and temporary, relief if any.
