My dog has red eyes, is panting, and is whimpering...is something wrong?

My dog, Tyson, is sitting on the ground panting. At first this was no surprise to me because he is a little overweight and pants all the time.

But then I noticed that he has red eyes. I then thought that he may be tired. But now he keeps walking up to people and whimpering. I figured that that may be because he begs for attention. But I want to make sure that this is nothing serious.

Does anyone know if anything may be wrong with my dog?

There's no way for me, or anyone else, to tell if something is seriously wrong with your dog I'm afraid, only a veterinarian can do that.

From what you describe I would personally say that there is something wrong, because most dogs pant if they're stressed, in pain or anxious. As your dogs' eyes are red and he's whimpering and unsettled, I'd guess that he's in some pain and not feeling well.

Why that is though, only your vet can tell you after doing a proper, hands-on exam. It could be an infection of some sort, or if he's overweight perhaps his heart or something totally different.

I can only strongly recommend that you get this little guy to a vet asap as you need to find out what is causing him to be so distressed. I wish you the best of luck and hope he's doing much better soon.
