My dog is 1 1/2 years old now and lately he has been very disorientated and refuses to eat at times.
We have taken him to the vet to have his ears checked/cleaned but this has not helped and appears to have made his condition worse.
We are very worried about him so if you have any information on what could be wrong with him please could you share it?
Thanks Ruby
Hi Ruby
I'm sorry to hear that your dog is having problems, but unfortunately I'm not a veterinarian and it's impossible for me to really guess at what could be wrong.
I can only recommend that you take him back to your vet and explain your concerns and that he hasn't improved, more tests need to be done for sure.
If the ear cleaning made things worse, then it's still possible that the problem lies with his ears somehow. Your vet should be able to take a closer look or even refer him to a specialist if necessary.
It's also possible that this dizziness has nothing to do with his ears and is a neurological problem or being caused by something else entirely. Again only a vet can make an accurate diagnosis I'm afraid.
Whatever is causing it needs to be found and treated so that your poor little guy can feel better and you can stop worrying about him. I strongly recommend getting back to your vet asap.
I wish you lots of luck and hope he's doing much better soon.
