my 3 1/2 old pitbull acts like she has something stuck in her throat but eats fine and drinks fine.
she had a pine needle caught in there the other day and kept throwing it up many times and reswallowing it but then got it out and now she like whoops for no reason,
especially when I play with her,any help would be great, thank you...
Hi Hank
There are most likely two possible scenarios here....
Firstly that this is a result of the pine needle she swallowed earlier - it could be that she actually swallowed more than one and there is still one or more somewhere down there! Or that the needle she eventually coughed up scratched or damaged her throat and is causing irritation and inflammation.
It is also possible that she inhaled a pine needle, or some other debris, and it's now causing her chest problems.
Secondly, that the needle is purely co-incidental and she has an unconnected upper respiratory tract infection or kennel cough.
The only way to find out for sure is to have her examined by your veterinarian. I'd strongly recommend doing this as whatever the reason it could well be that she needs treatment to prevent complications.
Best of luck, hope she is doing much better soon.
