My beagle is a year old and i let her out today for a couple hours.. and she was frightened and she will not move very much she was shaking and i watched her closely for a while and she went and pee'd at the door and it was bloody, it is the first i had encountered from her, what is it?...
im taking her to the vet tomorrow morning. i just wanted to know is that what happens if she's been mated with another dog? is it life threatening for her? help!
Hi El
Well, it certainly seems as though something has upset your dog. It's not possible to tell what it was unless you actually saw what happened, but if she is very quiet, shaking etc. then she must have been pretty scared.
As long as she's not visibly injured, hopefully she will feel better once she's settled down and feels safe inside. Don't let her out again by herself, make sure you go with her so that this doesn't happen again.
It's possible she was mounted by a male dog, if she wasn't in a contained area, that could well scare her. It could also possibly cause some blood/discharge, but not necessarily.
Blood in the urine can be a sign of urinary tract infection or kidney problems, so it's a good thing that you are taking her to the veterinarian tomorrow. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
Best of luck, I hope she's feeling better soon
