my new puppy is breathing heavily

My puppy we just got two days ago is breathing heavily what could that be?

She's eating fine and everything.

Hi
Puppies and dogs usually breathe heavily when they're scared or anxious, or in pain, or just 'out-of-breath' due to exercise etc.

If you've only had your puppy a couple of days she's probably still in the 'adjustment period' and is feeling a bit nervous and homesick. You can read more about this on my Bringing Home A New Puppy page.

If she's eating, drinking, eliminating and playing normally I wouldn't worry too much about this right now. However it is very important to have a new pup checked out thoroughly by your own vet as soon as possible after bringing them home and I'd recommend that you have your little girl examined by your vet just as soon as you can.

That way you can make sure she's 100% healthy and up to date on her puppy shots, deworming treatments etc.

Best of luck with your puppy.
