What would cause a one yr told female shorkie to get bald spots?

There are all sorts of reasons that dogs can suffer from hair loss. Dog allergies, fungal infections or parasites (including the mites that cause Mange in dogs)are just a few of options.

I'd also strongly suggest that if this recurs that you have your vet take a look at your dog. He (or she) should be able to figure out what's causing the problem and get it taken care of.
