my pug who is seven continues to lick constantly... and drools

my pug who is seven continues to lick constantly and has watery discharge from mouth, saliva i guess..

i've tried drying it and it goes a way for a minute he then licks again and hacks white stuff sometimes?

what is this?

I'm afraid I'm not a veterinarian and I can't tell you what is causing this constant licking and drooling, but it's not normal and I strongly suggest that you get your pug to your own vet as soon as you can for a check up.

It could be that he has some sort of problem with his teeth - maybe decay, or a loose tooth, or something stuck between them. Or it could be he's hurt his throat, or got something stuck back there.

Your veterinarian can take a look for you and get whatever it is taken care of.

Your poor little guy is probably feeling quite miserable with all of this going on and he's relying on you to help him, so please get him a veterinarian appointment asap.
