my puppies pee is orange!

My puppies pee is bright orange color what's wrong with her?

I'm not a vet, so I can't say for sure what's causing this problem, but my first two guesses would be....

1. That she's dehydrated because she's not getting enough water. When that happens the urine becomes very concentrated and dark, and she could end up with a urinary tract infection.

2. There is a lot of dyes and artificial coloring in the food/treats that she's eating. Red, orange or yellow dyes could cause this and you're likely to see these in the lower quality dog foods where the kibble is brightly colored, or in colorful treats.

If she seems happy and healthy apart from the dark urine then I'd recommend increasing her fluid intake and making sure she's only eating a premium puppy food that doesn't contain a lot of colors and additives (see my Puppy Kibble page for more info. on feeding your pup.
