I have a 7 week lab mixed with terrier that likes nibbling on everything, my kids legs, my socks while on my feet and shoes, paper, hats anything.

What does this mean? Is she teething or get rid of her?

Hi Kimberly
This is perfectly normal puppy behavior. All puppies nip, bite and chew. Some may be more stubborn about it, but it's just one of those puppy behaviors that need to be controlled.

I'd strongly recommend that you read my Puppy Biting and Puppy Chewing pages. They're full of tips and advice on handling these problems.

As a new puppy parent, you'll probably also find my Puppy Behavior and New Puppy Care pages helpful.

I'm not sure if I understood your question totally correctly at the end there. If you're concerned that her biting and chewing are reasons to find her another home, then you may be in for a surprise when raising your pup.

Raising a puppy is like raising a child, it takes lots of time, patience, love and discipline. There will be many challenges, and you will need to be lovingly consistent in the way you teach and nurture your pup.

If this seems like it may be too much for you (whether due to time constraints, money or just 'biting off more than you can chew' and not being prepared for puppy-parenthood), then it might be better to find your pup another home while she's still young and will adapt easily.

I wish you the best of luck with your puppy, whatever you decide to do.
