My puppy fell of my bed onto marble floor. The bed is not that high up but when he did fall he let out a loud yelp and walked it off.
This morning we noticed a bump had formed on the right side of his neck. His eyes water when I massage it but he does not cry out in pain but his breathing does get harsher. I tried applying an ice pack wrapped in a dish rag but he wont stay. He hasn't been acting strangely or anything and he doesn't show signs of discomfort.
I want to know what i can apply to bring down the bump. He's a two month old pit bull.
Hi Amy
It sounds as though your pup hurt himself but hopefully not seriously.
It obviously hurts him (that's why his breathing changes when you massage it), but I doubt you're going to be able to keep an ice pack on a puppy's neck!
I'd recommend that if you're at all worried you take him to your veterinarian for a check up and to make sure there aren't any other injuries you can't see, and that this lump isn't serious.
As he's acting normally and seems just to have this swelling, chances are he'll make a full recovery and be no worse for the wear. But it's always better to be safe than sorry, so a check up is a good idea.
Best of luck, hope he's feeling better soon.
