My puppy has a pink swollen eye!!!

My 7 week old puppy was left alone and out with his daddy, which is very ornery towards the pup, well i get home and the pup now has a large pink lump in the corner of his eye...

What could this be, and how could i help him.

Well, this could be something to do with the puppy's dad - if he was aggressive towards the pup he may have injured his eye. Or it could be unrelated - maybe the pup got something in his eye while playing, or scratched it on a fence, stick, piece of wire etc. It could even be an infection, such as conjunctivitis. It's really impossible to say.

However, you aren't going to be able to tell for yourself whether or not he's injured the cornea, so you need to have a vet look at your pups eye. Left untreated, damage to the cornea could result in blindness.

For now, you can clean around your pups eye with some sterile saline (salt water) solution, but see a vet asap.
