My puppy recently had his 2nd set of shots. Now his belly is hard and bloated

My puppy had his second set of shots two days ago. Now his stomach seems hard and bloated. Should I be concerned?

I haven't heard of stomach bloating as a reaction to puppy shots before, but it could possibly be related.

It could also be due to another condition such as worms or excessive gas. However, it's impossible for me to tell.

If your pup is a large or giant breed, such as a Great Dane, or is deep-chested, there is always the possibility of bloat (torsion). In that situation your pup would also be in pain/distress, likely by panting, pacing, whining and so on. It's unlikely but because bloat is so serious it has to be mentioned. If your pup seems to be eating, drinking and acting normally (apart from the distended tummy), then chances are it's nothing serious, however it's always better to be safe than sorry and I would recommend contacting your vet and getting his advice/opinion.
