my shitzu dog was abused when she was a pup, she was kicked hard in her anus and now she is 5 years old and has problems going to the bathroom and her anus stays red and sore what can i do to help her?

I'd suggest that you take your dog to the vet and have her examined to make sure that there's no physical damage that needs to be corrected.

If your vet says that structurally she's okay then I would imagine the best thing you could do is to keep her bowel motions soft so that she doesn't have to strain or suffer from constipation which would be difficult/painful for her.
