My spouse gave the 6 week old chihuahua milk and now he won't eat. ...

He has a milky bowel movement and only drinks water. I'm real nervous.

Puppies and dogs can't digest cows milk properly and it normally does give them loose stools for a day or two. Luckily it's not generally anything to worry about too much as this effect wears off pretty quickly.

However, chihuahua's are tiny dogs and chi puppies are quite delicate. It's important that your puppy keep drinking water to replace the fluids lost in the puppy diarrhea he's experiencing.

When a puppy's tummy is upset he tends to lose his appetite and again, it's normally only for a short time, and nothing major to worry about. BUT as chihuahua's are so tiny they can suffer from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if they don't eat for longish periods. To combat this you can give him a little Karo syrup (corn syrup) in his water, or rub it onto his gums if you notice that he seems shaky, or lethargic, or generally a bit 'out of it'.

If he doesn't make a full recovery and start eating and drinking normally within 24 - 36 hours then I'd recommend having your vet examine him to make sure everything is okay. It's always better to be safe than sorry.
