new born puppies has hard spots

One week old litter, many of the pups have hard patches?

New Born Puppies shouldn't have hard patches or spots of any sort.

I'm not sure whether these patches or ON the skin, or UNDER the skin, or whether they're lumps/cysts etc. so it's impossible for me to say what might be causing it.

However, it's not normal and if several of the puppies have this at such a young age it's possible it's a genetic problem, or something contagious.

I can only strongly suggest that you have these little ones examined by your vet asap so that you can find out what's causing the problem. That way you can get an accurate diagnosis and any treatment that is needed started quickly.
