I crate my half beagle and lab when i leave, and when I return she has pooped thrown up and peed and cries the whole time I'm gone.
My neighbors said for me to crate her on the note that they left, I DID CRATE HER HELP ME PLEASE!
Hi Terrie
If your pup is young, and has never been crated before, it could be that it's just new to her and she's scared and lonely.
It would be much better to let her get used to the crate for short periods (while you're in the house) to begin with. Or leave her in room with a baby gate to block the doorway, or in a doggie playpen for a few days until she feels more at home.
However, it could also be that she's suffering from separation anxiety, which is an extreme reaction to being separated from you. Her distress makes her physically sick and she can't control herself. This is not terribly rare, and can occur at different levels of intensity, it's often seen in nervous, anxious or timid dogs.
My Separation Anxiety In Your Dog page has lots of advice and information on dealing with this behavior. Also, links to other pages/articles with more tips. I think you'll find them helpful.
I would also suggest that you talk with your neighbors and explain the situation, and that you have crated her and are trying to deal with her issues. They may well be quite understanding when they know what's going on.
I wish you the best of luck!
