Our new puppy had a loose bowel movement today with worms, what does this mean and is there something we can do to prevent this in happening again?

Your puppy has worms in his intestines, and they may be the cause of the loose bowels or it could be a change in diet, stress of the move to a new home, or a sign of illness/disease

Your puppy needs to be dewormed by a veterinarian, and as the worms are visible in his stools, the sooner the better. He will also need to get started on his vaccinations and I would mention the diarrhea to your vet too.

It's always best to get a new puppy checked out by a vet within 48 hours of bringing him home, that way you can make sure he's healthy and deal with any issues right away.
