Old english puppy cries when touching the back of his neck

I have an 8 week old old english bulldog we can pet him any where but when we touch the back of his neck he yelps.

any suggestions?

If your puppy has had his puppy shots recently it's possible that he has a 'knot' or sore spot at the site of the injection. This can be on the shoulder, back of the neck etc.

If he seems happy and healthy apart from this and is eating/drinking and eliminating normally I doubt that it's anything urgent, but I would definitely suggest that you mention it to your veterinarian at his next check-up. Earlier if he starts to show any signs of illness or distress.
