One Year-Old Maltese

My one year old maltese has been throwing up white mucus like looking substances and she has had diarrhea that has gotten progressively worse and now looks a little red with some of the mucus in it.

She has had this for the past three days. What is wrong with her and what should I do?

Hi
If this has been going on for three days, your pup is at risk of dehydration due to the repeated diarrhea.

Diarrhea that gets progressively worse, especially if it's containing blood/mucus, needs to be evaluated by a veterinarian.

If your pup is up to date on all her shots, that should protect her against the most common and serious canine illnesses, but she could have a bacterial/viral infection or a parasitic problem... or another issue.

Only a vet can make an accurate diagnosis and I strongly suggest that you make an appointment for her right away. The sooner she is diagnosed the sooner treatment can start and she will feel better.

Best of luck, hope she's doing much better soon.
