We just got this guy today, and after a trip to pet smart, we have been told he looks like a ton of different breeds. The people we got him from had rescued him so they had no idea what he is. Hoping there's a professional out there that will see his pics and give us a good idea of what he is.

It's always tricky to guess at what breeds are involved in any kind of 'mix'! Depending on whether your pup is a mix of two purebred parents, or two mix breed parents (with unknown heritage themselves) any combination of traits/looks could show up.

I'm no 'expert' at this, but your pup looks to me as though he may have some American Bulldog or Amstaff or Pitbull blood in him (the coloring/markings and head shape hint at this). He may also have some hound (possibly Beagle or a hunting dog). Of course, that's a personal opinion and I could be way off the mark :o)

If anyone else wants to jump in here and take a guess, feel free!

Of course, it really doesn't matter what breeds make up his heritage, in a mixed breed the behavioral attributes of any particular breed are going to be very diluted, and no matter what breed a puppy is, the same care and training is required.
