Our 13wk old toy poodle seemed to get her poop stuck & struggled to pass it, we ended up having to wipe it away ourselves, this morning her bum looks strange like its sticking out? & is reluctant to let us near her.

Constipation isn't terribly unusual in smaller breed pups, and I'd recommend that you take a look at my A Constipated Puppy page to learn more about this. You'll also find ways to help prevent it from happening in the future.

It sounds to me as though the effort of pushing out the hardened stools may have caused your pup to develop a hemorrhoid and I'd recommend that you take her to your veterinarian so that he can take a look.

You can also bathe her gently in warm water, but avoid shampooing too close to her anus as this would be painful/uncomfortable for her. Just wash it as best you can and try to trim away some of the hair if possible. If you have too much trouble with this, a groomer should be able to do it for you.

Just have your vet check her out so that if she needs any treatment you can get it taken care of. Best of luck, hope she's doing much better soon.
