outdoor run for 3 week old golden retriever puppies

Hi, I have a heated kennel but I also have a garage for a run that is about 4 celsius.

Would it be ok to let the puppies have a run in there.

thank you

Hi Joanne
Puppies can't regulate their body temperature themselves until they're about a month old. Because of that they need to be kept in a constant, warm temperature so that they don't get chilled.

They should be indoors somewhere draft-free. I definitely wouldn't recommend letting them run around in a 4C temperature, even within a sheltered area such as a garage.

By the time they're six to eight weeks old they should be able to handle this for short periods, but should still be kept in a warm, dry, draft-free area.

Hope this helps, best of luck with your puppies.
