pocket beagle with bronchitis

Our puppy is only 2 and one half pounds and 10 weeks old. He is coughing and the vet put him on antibiotics.

Is this dangerous?

I'm not certain whether you're worried that the cough is dangerous, or the antibiotics :o)

If your pup is coughing, he may have a canine illness such as Kennel Cough or an upper respiratory tract infection, both of which do well when treated with antibiotics.

Although he's young, and small, I'm sure the vet took that into consideration when prescribing the medication.

You did the right thing by taking him to the vet to get treated. Kennel Cough may get better without treatment, if no secondary infection sets in, but a bacterial infection won't.

I expect your puppy will do just fine on the medication and will be feeling much better soon. If you notice that he doesn't seem to be improving though, or gets worse, don't hesitate to get in touch with your vet.
