I took my 6 week old puppy to the vet she got vaccinated. They found some type of germ in her poop so they gave me this yellow type syrup thing in a bottle the said i'm supposed to give her.75 cc which have been doing.
It's been a week and i've been giving it to her everyday except i missed one because i completely for got and remembered the next day so i just gave it to her like i normally do but i just noticed that she hasn't been eating right and she's pooped worms a lot of them!
The vet told me she was going to be pooping worms so i was some what prepared or that but she hasn't been wanting to eat her food. i'm starting to worry because she looks thin she does drink some water but does not touch her food. I don't know of its because she's just being a picky eater because recently she aet sausage from the floor that my sister dropped i don't if its because she wants some more of that.
I'm worried for her, i don't know what to do. i've been trying to feed her even by hand with a spoon and i've been trying to force water with a tiny syringe in her mouth because it's been very hot lately and she hardly drinks water now, i don't know what could be happening!
Hi Evelyn
I'm afraid the only way to find out what's going on with your puppy is to get her to the veterinarian and I'd recommend doing that asap.
It's possible that these symptoms are indicating some new type of infection and in an unvaccinated puppy this could be very serious if not diagnosed and treated right away. Having worms in her poop after being treated for them is normal, but the loss of appetite, refusal to drink etc. isn't and needs to be investigated by a professional.
Your little girl is relying on you to keep her safe, so please get her to your vet right away so that you can be sure she is okay.
Best of luck, hope she's doing much better soon.
