A puppy isn't fully protected until he's had all 3 sets of puppy shots and I'd strongly recommend that you wait until then to allow him access to public places (such as streets, sidewalks, parks, open areas) where other, unvaccinated dogs may have been.

Puppies have a natural immunity from their mom but no one knows for sure how long this remains effective. If a pup is vaccinated while still having naturally occurring antibodies the vaccine won't 'take'. 3 sets of shots are given at 3 week intervals to try to make sure that one is received when the natural immunity has worn off, but minimize the amount of time the pup has no protection at all.

Your pup can go outside in your fenced yard, or to the home of another VACCINATED pup or dog, but just not in public places. Hope this helps, best of luck with your pup.
