My multipoo is eleven months old and since I have had her (9 months), one day she eats like there is no tomorrow and some days she hardly eats or drinks at all.
Her erratic eating habits worry us.
Hi Ben
Unless your pup is showing any signs of illness, such as generalized loss of appetite, lethargy, losing weight etc. then I wouldn't worry too much about her eating 'irregularities'.
Most puppies go through phases and stages when they're starving, or totally disinterested in food. It's pretty normal. As she's been a bit erratic since the day you got her, it's likely this is just part of her individual personality.. one of her 'quirks' if you like.
It probably wouldn't hurt to have her checked out by your vet just to be sure that she's healthy and there's no underlying health issues. But apart from that as long as she gets a clean bill of health, I wouldn't be concerned.
Do also make sure that you're feeding her the best puppy food or dog food that you can possibly afford. That way if she's not eating too much, at least what she's getting is highly nutritious.
When it's hot dogs eat less, that's normal too. They do need to drink though. However, nature usually takes care of what they need and if she's not really hungry or thirsty on any given day, as long as she's acting normally, then she's probably getting what she needs.
Hope this puts your mind at rest some. Best of luck with your pup.
