Puppies Gums - what color should they be?

What shade of pink should an eight month old puppies gum's be?

That's actually an impossible question to answer because individual breeds (depending on their color and pigment) can have gums anywhere from pale pink, to black!

You will know by now what color your puppy's gums are normally, and if they are paler than normal (or darker) then this could indicate a health problem.

Anything from worms, to heart issues can cause the gum color to change. If you're at all concerned please have your pup examined by your veterinarian so you can make sure there isn't an underlying health problem.
