puppy biting

by Millie
(White House Tn.)

I have a 9 week old maltese puppy that constantly bites and nips at anyone that picks her up.

Although she just wants to play, her little teeth are sharp. She even follows me through the house hanging onto my pant leg.

It's funny watching her but there comes a time when she has to stop. We have given her every kind of chew toy we can think of but she still wants to bite on us.

What can we can do to break her from this?

Thanks,
Millie

Hi Millie
This is totally normal puppy behavior, and it can be amusing but it definitely 'gets old' pretty quick!

Although she's little now (and so are her teeth), it's something you need to stop now while she's young. If it gets to be too ingrained a habit it can be difficult to stop.

It's generally an attention-seeking behavior, occasionally an attempt at dominance. You will find all the tips and advice you need to deal with this behavior on my Puppy Biting page.

Best of luck!
