puppy breathing hard when he's asleep?

I have a 7 week old pitbull, and when he sleeps he breathes really hard and fast, his stomach is moving really fast and while laying on his back his arm is shaking,

why is that happening, please tell me?

Hi Maggie
This is normal so don't worry about it! Most puppies breath fast or erratically when they sleep. They may also twitch, whine, wriggle or even bark. They're dreaming I think.

As long as your puppy seems happy and health when he's awake, and he only breathes fast/strangely or twitches when he's sleeping then I don't think you need to be concerned.

However, you can discuss this with your vet when you next take your puppy for a check up and if you're still worried call and talk to him now.

Hope this helps, best of luck with your new puppy.
