puppy breathing help .

i adopted my dog and she breathes really fast and is always hacking but i do not know why ? she only maybe 12 weeks old if that .

I don't know if you adopted your pup from a shelter/pound or from a private individual. If she came from a shelter she has likely had her puppy shots, but may have caught Kennel Cough.

Kennel Cough is one of the dog illnesses that puppies are prone to, and it's especially common in facilities that house many dogs such as kennels, pounds etc.

Often it clears up by itself, but sometimes needs to be treated with antibiotics. I'd recommend having your puppy examined by your vet so that you can find out what is going on and get her any treatment that is necessary.

Puppies do often breathe quickly, when they're sleeping they may also breathe erratically, but this could also be a sign of a chest infection which can be a result of Kennel Cough.

A visit to the vet is necessary. Best of luck, hope she's doing much better soon.
