Puppy catching breath and coughing

my shih tzu pup seems to catch his breath and choke if you wake him up or pick him up too quick..

I'd recommend you have your puppy checked out thoroughly by your veterinarian to make sure that everything is okay and that there's no underlying
health problem.

There are several possible reasons for this type of behavior - reverse sneezing, kennel cough, infection and more, but only a vet can make a diagnosis so please get your pup examined asap.
