my puppy isn't coughing or sneezing but more sounds like he has some mucus built up.
you hear it more when he goes to sleep and is sleeping also when hes sniffing a lot. what do i do?
Hi Jennifer
The fact that he isn't coughing or sneezing is good, and if there's no obvious sign of mucus (such as discharge from nose/eyes), that's even better.
If he's acting normally, and is eating, drinking and playing as usual, chances are this isn't anything too serious. However, you definitely need to have him examined by your vet to make sure that there's no underlying health issues that are causing this congestion.
Depending on his breed, it could just be down to the way he's 'built'. Bulldogs and short-nosed breeds such as Pugs and so on, can tend to 'snuffle' a lot, or sound as though they're a bit congested. This is due to their nasal passages being short and 'squashed'. However, these breeds are also prone to quite a few health problems, so any symptoms should be checked out by your vet.
Hope this helps, best of luck with your pup.
