puppy constipation

my 8 week old chi-pom is constipated.

what can I give her to help her go?

The first things you can do is try to increase her fluid intake and exercise level. More water and more activity helps to get the digestive system moving along.

You can try adding a little canned pumpkin (not the pie filling variety though) to her food, this sometimes helps as it contains fiber.

If after 24 hours she is still having problems, I would suggest talking to your veterinarian. He may be able to give you some other ideas or suggestions, or even prescribe a mild laxative or enema. Don't give her any medication yourself though that hasn't either been prescribed or recommended by your vet.
