i just got this puppy, and he is almost 7 weeks old. He has been having diarrhea, mostly soft yellowish greenish stool but has been eating and active.
But today he had vomited it's like whitish liquid with rice.
i have been feeding him home cooked chicken and rice with yoghurt, cause the puppy owner told me not to feed him puppy food.
im worried about him cause now he is not eating and is weak!
the weather is getting cold and i'm covering him well, but can he handle the cold?
it's not really cold the room temperature is almost 23C.
im going to take him to a vet tomorrow morning, hopin i'll find a good one.
but i'm so worried, i had a puppy before and she died due to the bad vet!!
Hi Sarah
You're doing the right thing by taking your puppy to the vet in the morning. It's important that he gets checked out so that a diagnosis can be made and treatment started.
It's impossible for me to say what's causing his troubles, it could be anything from worms/parasites or illness or disease, to something he ate or stress coupled with a change in diet. Only your vet can really figure it out.
If he's not eating, it's important to encourage him to drink his water, you can even add some unflavored Pedialyte or something similar if he'll drink it. Puppies can go a couple of days without food, but they need their water as they get dehydrated quickly.
As a new puppy owner, you will probably find my New Puppy Care page helpful.
I wish you the best of luck with your pup and hope the veterinarian can get him back on the right track in the morning.
