Puppy has diarrhea

About three days ago i found a puppy on the side of the street. he was almost hit by a simi so i pulled over and got him.

over the last couple of days he has be licking constantly at his butt and has extremely runny poop.

i have given him round worm medicine two days ago, because his stomach was bloated and he had diarrhea then too, but not as bad as he does now.

his stomach is no longer bloated but he now has diarrhea very badly.

what should i do for him?

Hi
As you rescued this puppy, you've no way of knowing where he came from, or whether he's received any veterinary care such as vaccinations, or even basic health care such as worming.

The original diarrhea could have been due to stress, the sudden change in diet, or could be early signs of canine illness or disease. The bloating could have been due to worms, but whether this was the case, or what kind of worms, who knows?

Over the counter worm medications aren't generally very effective and they can have unwanted side effects. The more severe diarrhea he has now could be added problems caused by the worm medicine. Young puppies can get dehydrated very easily, and if he's suffering from constant diarrhea he needs to be seen by a vet right away.

If he's sick, he can get diagnosed and treated, and the sooner the better. You did a great thing for this little pup by rescuing him, now he needs more help. Please have a vet check him out asap.

Best of luck.
