puppy in heat?

I have an 8 mo. old beagle and she is very lethargic, she's not eating or drinking much. She is licking her privates some.

She is usually very active and this is the second day. She hardly get up. Could she be in heat?

At this age it's certainly possible that she could be in heat, but generally being in season doesn't cause lethargy or loss of appetite like this.

I would tend to think that she's not well rather than in season. If she's licking her genital area a lot perhaps she has a urinary tract infection or something similar.

The only way to find out for sure is to take her to your own veterinarian for a check up, and I'd strongly recommend doing this as soon as you can. If she's lethargic and not eating/drinking normally then something is wrong and it's always better to be safe than sorry.
