puppy is unsteady

I have a four week old puppy that cant seem to walk around, she wont stand on her legs, and when she puts her head up it falls back to the floor side ways as if her head is to big for her body.

This is how she moves around by her head being to heavy and going from one side to the other, is she retarted? Her mother had a very hard labor and she was the last to be born. her legs move but she is almost always on her side, when she is trying to move.

Her brother is doing great he sits and moves on all four legs, please tell me what is wrong with her. Thanks Crystal

I wish I could tell you for sure what is wrong, but I'm not a veterinarian I'm afraid. However, it's clear that this puppy has some serious problems and I strongly suggest that you take her to your veterinarian for evaluation as soon as possible.

She may have a nerve or neurological problem, problems with her spine/neck and there are certain conditions that can cause this sort of weakness. Depending on the cause, your vet can discuss treatment options with you.

This little puppy needs help I'm afraid, so please see your vet asap. Best of luck with her.
