Puppy leaking urine

My female puppy is now 6 1/2 months old.

She has recently started leaking urine. From what we can tell it seems to be only while she's lying down.

She has been house trained for 2 months.

Hi Susan
This doesn't sound like a housebreaking issue to me, and my first guess would be that she has a urinary tract infection.

This is fairly common in puppies, especially females, and it can cause a loss of bladder control as well as excessive urination.

This sort of 'leaking' is definitely not normal in a pup who is young and previously able to 'hold it'. I'd strongly recommend a trip to the veterinarians' office for a check up.

Left untreated, UTI's can cause some serious health problems so please get her examined. Best of luck, hope she's doing much better soon.

PUPPY URINE LEAK

Thank you for taking the time to answer me question. I did call the vet and we found out that he PH level is 8. So the vet has recommended that we remove all her treats, the g-wizz and switch her to adult dog food for the next 5 weeks. We'll see what happens. Thanks again for your response.
