Hi Carly
I'm afraid only a veterinarian can tell you for sure what the lump on your pup's tummy is, and you really need to have him examined so that you can get that diagnosis.

However, it is possible it's a boil or infected bump, either due to a sting/bite, an injury, or from sleeping on a wet/dirty floor or bedding, or something similar.

If there is redness or irritation around the area, or if it hurts your pup to touch it, then an infection is very possible and you need medication for him.

If this 'lump' is right where his 'belly button' is and isn't actually IN the skin but seems more to be a swelling under the skin, then it could be a small hernia which is actually fairly common in puppies.

However, your vet will need to take a look to know for sure and would be able to tell you if any treatment is needed whatever the cause. So please get him an appointment asap. Best of luck.
