My chihuhua is having puppies now. how long do they stay on their moms milk?

How long do we have to keep them till we are able to sell them? What is the best food to get them once they need to stop drinking their moms milk?

Hi Billy
Puppies will need just their momma's milk for about 3 to 4weeks, then she will begin to wean them by refusing to nurse them for long.

At that point you can introduce some good quality, dry puppy food soaked in warm water for 10 - 15 minutes before giving it to them. They can also start to lap water then.

Puppies need to stay with their momma until they are 8 weeks old.

You will find more advice and information on raising puppies and puppy development on my New Born Puppies and Puppy Development pages.

Best of luck!
