Puppy Shaking

Hello,

My 8 week old mini poodle shakes often, especially when my four year old holds her which is always very, very, gently and she is always supervised and she has never hurt her.

Is this common? We've had her for one day.

Hi
Yes it is. Your new puppy is just scared.

For the majority of puppies, leaving their momma and littermates and coming into a new home, full of new people, sights, sounds and smells, is very stressful.

They may react by losing their appetite, sleeping more than usual, shaking, crying, seeming 'sad' and so on. This usually only lasts for a few days though, and once the puppy starts to feel more 'at home' she will relax and her true personality will shine through!

It sounds as though your new pup is just feeling scared and anxious, and although your daughter is being very careful and loving, the puppy may not feel as secure in her arms as she does in yours. It's natural and nothing to worry about.

I think as new puppy parents you might find my New Puppy Care page helpful

Congratulations on your puppy and good luck with her.
