puppy shots and going outside

How soon after he has his first set of shots can he go outside & public places?

Hi
Your puppy won't be adequately protected from canine illnesses/disease until he's had his full set of vaccinations.

Puppies need three sets of the combination vaccinations (given at 3 week intervals and starting at 7 weeks old), plus a Rabies shot at 12 - 16 weeks of age. Although he can usually go outside and in public without too much of a risk before he's had his Rabies shot, it's not safe to take him out to public places until he's had all three sets of puppy vaccinations.

If you have a fenced back yard, where stray/unvaccinated dogs don't have access, then it's okay for him to play there. Also, if you have friends/relatives who have healthy, fully vaccinated dogs it's fine for him to visit their homes (and yards if they're fenced in and safe).

Public places like streets, parks, beaches and so on though are not safe for him until he's fully vaccinated.

Good luck with your puppy.
