Puppy sickness

My German Shepherd puppy started puking today, and then he started choking on something lodged in his throat, so my mom put her finger down his throat and saved him.

But now he keeps crying like he's in pain. He is still throwing up. He is also the thinnest puppy in the litter.

This is not the first time he has thrown up, but this is the worst it's ever been. WHAT'S WRONG WITH HIM!

Hi Lou
I'm afraid I can't tell you what's wrong with your puppy, but I strongly recommend that you take him to a veterinarian for an examination.

If he regularly brings food back up after he's eaten, it may be that he has a problem with his esophagus. There are a few conditions that cause this, and they need to be diagnosed by a qualified vet.

If this is the problem, it may be that your puppy has difficulty swallowing or the food has difficulty entering his stomach. Either way, he will actually regurgitate a portion of his food, and get inadequate nutrition, this could be the root cause of his weight-gain difficulties.

As your mom had to help him this time he was choking, it's possible something is still lodged in his throat and causing him pain. Of that his esophagus got scratched or injured. Again, either way he needs to be seen by a vet.

Best of luck with this little guy, hope he's doing better soon.
