puppy smell

i have a 5 month old bassett hound and 2 days after i give her a bath she smells again. is this just puppy smell? or maybe the shampoo is not strong enough. if it is puppy smell how long till it goes away.

All dogs/puppies tend to smell a little 'doggy', but it shouldn't be unpleasant or strong.

If your pup smells horrible, even within days of a bath, there may be some underlying health issue (or skin condition) causing this. For example, a yeast infection can make a dog pretty smelly.

I would recommend taking your pup to your vet for an examination and discuss this issue with him. He should be able to figure out what is going on and treat your pup if necessary.
